YOUTH PARLIAMENTS/ DEBATES/ ELOCUTIONS

ABOUT THE COMPETITION:
Canonsphere, an innovative legal platform, is organizing “VIMARSH: Canon Youth Parliament” on 15th- 16th June, 2024 in online mode. This event is a great opportunity for students where they can articulate their opinions, challenge norms and explore potential solutions. The aim of the competition is to empower the youth to engage in meaningful discussions on pressing issues and unravel the complexities surrounding fairness, accountability, transparency, and privacy
issues in journalism.
COMMITTEES and AGENDAS:
There will be three committees in the youth parliament:
Lok Sabha: The agenda of discussion will be “Menstrual Hygiene at Workplace- Menstrual Leave Policy.”
Rajya Sabha: The agenda of discussion will be “Electoral Reform Bills.”
AIPPM: The agenda of the discussion will be “Protection of Men from Sexual Abuse.”
IMPORTANT DATES:
Last date of Registration: 14th June, 2024.
3 Training Sessions: Last week of May; 10 June
Inaugural Ceremony: 15th June, 2024
2nd Day and Valedictory Ceremony: 16th June, 2024
ELIGIBILITY:
College students: Students pursuing any undergraduate degree(BA LL.B/ B.Com LL.B/ BBA LL.B/ B.Sc LL.B/ BA/LL.B/ B.Com/ BBA/ B. Tech etc.) from a recognized university are eligible to participate in the competition.
School students: Senior secondary students (Classes 11 & 12) are also eligible to participate.
The language to be used for submissions, pointers and opinions is English.
HOW TO REGISTER?
Interested candidates shall register themselves online via Google Forms.
Registration Fees shall be paid before registration.
Candidates must upload payment receipt in the registration form before submitting it.
REGISTRATION FEES:
The registration fees for college students is:
Lok Sabha :- Rs. 800/-
Rajya Sabha :- Rs. 800/-
AIPPM :- Rs. 750/-
The registration fees for school students is Rs. 500 for each committee.
AWARDS:
The top three speakers for each committee will be awarded a cash prize.
The best Parliamentarian will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 2500/-
High Recommendation:- Rs. 1000/-
Special Mentioned:- Gift hampers.
The top 5 Speakers will be given an Appreciation letter with a gift hamper.
Participation certificates will be given to all those who attended the parliamentary session.
