THE SHILLONG LAW COLLEGE 1st NATIONAL MOOT COURT COMPETITION (22nd- 24th Aug)
ABOUT THE COMPETITION:
The Shillong Law College is an evening college, initially affiliated with Gauhati University and is going to organize a three-day National Moot Court 2024. This event is one of the most significant platforms for law students to showcase their advocacy skills, nuances of legal reasoning, argumentation and court decorum. The competition will consist of several rounds aimed at shaping an individual legal education identity as a lawyer.
DATE AND VENUE:
22nd August 2024 to 24th August 2024 at The Shillong Law College.
MODE OF COMPETITION:
Offline
LOCATION:
Shillong, Meghalaya.
ELIGIBILITY:
Any three- or 5 year law course student shall be eligible.
Only one team from each college or institute is allowed, consisting of 3 members in which there are 2 speakers and 1 researcher.
Maximum 30 teams on a first come first serve basis.
RULES:
Only the English language is allowed in the competition.
The team is not allowed to disclose their identity.
The participants shall be in formals inside the Court Room.
One advance soft copy in PDF form must sent to organizers by 15th August 2024 on theslcmootcourtsociety@gmail.com
The hard copy and soft copy must be the same, the memorial being in spiral binding only.
IMPORTANT DATES:
Last date of provincial registration: 5th July 2024
Last date of final registration: 10th July 2024
Last date of seeking clarification: 20th July 2024
Release of clarification: 30th July 2024
Last date of memorial soft copy submission: 15th August 2024
Last date of memorial hard copy submission: 22nd August 2024
DATES OF THE EVENT:
Prelims Round: 22nd August 2024
Quarter-final and semi-final Round: 23rd August 2024
Researcher’s Test: 23rd August 2024
Final Round: 24th August 2024
PRIZES AND REWARDS:
Winner - Rs. 1,01,000/- + Certificate of award + trophy
Runners Up - Rs. 51,000/- + Certificate of Award + trophy
Best Speaker - Rs. 16,000/- + Best speaker certificate + memento
Best Researcher - Rs. 16,000/- + Best Memorial Certificate + memento
Certificates will be given to all the participants.
REGISTRATION PROCESS:
5th July 2024 is the last provincial registration date for the competition by filling google form https://forms.gle/habLNV7hAzyDfYHJA
Registration fee without accommodation is Rs. 3299/- and with accommodation is Rs. 4799/-
Team Codes will be allotted to each team after their final registration.
