RGNUL National Essay Writing Competition on International Criminal Law

ABOUT THE COMPETITION:
The Centre for Advanced Studies in International Humanitarian Law (CASH) is one of Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab is organizing National Essay Writing Competition on International Criminal Law. The competition aims to provide students with a platform to demonstrate their writing skills and gain knowledge about issues surrounding international criminal law.
DEADLINE:
Last date for submission of essay extended from 30th Apr, 2024 to 31st May, 2024.
THEME:
The theme for essay is “International Criminal Law: Contemporary Challenges for the International Criminal Court”
Sub- themes may include:
International Criminal Justice and Erosion of Sovereignty
ICC and the Idea of Combating
Immunity for Heads of States and Government Officials
Climate Change, Ecocide, and International Criminal Law
Gender-based Crimes in International and Non-International
Armed Conflicts
Corporate and Individual Criminal Liability for International
Crimes: Trends and Challenges
International Criminal Law: Contemporary Issues
ELIGIBILITY:
Under- graduate and post- graduate law students.
Co- authorship permitted to 2 authors.
No plagiarism with a similarity rate of not more than 10%.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
Word Limit- 3,000-5,000 words.
Times New Roman, font size 12, 1.5 line spacing.
Citation must follow the Oxford University Standard for Citation of Legal Authorities (OSCOLA) (4th ed.).
HOW TO REGISTER?
All essays must be submitted along with registration fees by 31st May, 2024.

Registration fee for individual as well as co- authors collectively is Rs. 500.
AWARDS:
Certificate of Participation will be given to all the participants.
Selected essays will be published in an ISBN-serialized book by the Centre for Advanced Study in International Humanitarian Law, RGNUL.
Cash prize will be given to the top three essays of Rs 7000/-, Rs 5000/- and Rs 3000/- to first, second and third winners respectively.
