Arjun Ram Meghwal Continues as Law Minister in the Newly Formed Union Government
Arjun Ram Meghwal will Retain the Ministry of Law and Justice with Independent Charge in the Newly Formed NDA (National Democratic Alliance) Government. He Continues as Minister of State in the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs. Ram Meghwal, who won the Lok Sabha seat from Bikaner constituency, Rajasthan this year, also handled the Law Ministry in the previous government from May 2023. On May 17, 2023, he replaced Kiren Rijiju as the Minister of Law and Justice.
After this announcement, Arjun Meghwal posted, "I expressed my heartfelt gratitude to the PM Narendra Modi ji for entrusting me once again with the responsibilities of the Union Ministry of Law and Justice and the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs. I pledge to faithfully fulfil my duties under the esteemed leadership and guidance of the Prime Minister."
His Background and Political Career:
Arjun Ram Meghwal was Born on Dec 20, 1954 in Bikaner, Rajasthan. Meghwal served the country being a IAS officer before entering in politics. He was elected in the Lok Sabha from the Bikaner constituency in 2009. He has been a significant figure in the BJP for a very long time, holding various significant positions including the Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs and the Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs.
Tenure as Law Minister:
Arjun Meghwal became the Law Minister in May 2023. He succeeded Kiren Rijiju. His tenure has been focused on judicial reforms. He is improving legal infrastructure. He has been a strong advocate for improving access to Justice. Meghwal is invested in digitizing the legal system to increase transparency and efficiency. He aims to address Case backlogs persisting in the Indian judiciary.
