3rd NATIONAL MOOT COURT COMPETITION OF JIS UNIVERSITY, CALCUTTA 2024

ABOUT:

JIS University, Calcutta is organizing its 3rd National Moot Court Competition on 29th July 2024. Their department is fully committed to supporting the students throughout their journey. Moot Court exercise involves the application of the law to a common set of evidentiary assumptions, facts and disputes to which competitors are introduced.

DATE AND TIME:

On 29th July 2024, 10 am onwards

VENUE:

JIS University Campus, Calcutta

ELIGIBILITY:

• Students pursuing 5-year or 3-year undergraduate law courses from India or Outside India can apply for this competition.

• Only 5 teams from one University or college can participate.
  

RULES:

• A team will consist of 3 members including 2 speakers and 1 researcher.

• The teams must not reveal their identity.

• Each team has to prepare a memorial from both sides i.e petitioner or respondent.

• The memorial on behalf of the petitioner is in blue colour and the respondent shall be in red or in the format as prescribed.

• Each registered team shall submit a soft copy in PDF format before 25th July 2024 (11:59 pm) at dr.souvikchatterji@jisuniversity.ac.in

• The name of the petitioner memorial’s file should be “JIS-NMCC-11 P” and the file containing the memorial of the respondent side should be "JIS-NMCC-11R”.

• The teams must submit the Compendium along with a memorial on 25th July 2024 not exceeding 5 pages.

  
  

AWARDS:

• WINNER: 8000/- + trophy + certificate

• 1ST RUNNER UP: 5000/- + trophy + certificate

• 3RD RUNNER UP: 3000/- +trophy + certificate

• BEST MEMORIAL: 3000/- + trophy + certificate

• BEST RESEARCHER: 3000/- trophy + certificate

• BEST SPEAKER: 3000/- + trophy + certificate

• Certificate of participation will be given to all.

  
  

REGISTRATION PROCESS:

1. Each team shall register by filling the registration form in XXth date, year format through https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSct5owhL7hXah-DnLbFwL0wLBj0uwK5vnmGJgolv3J-PIOh2w/viewform

2. After the registration, each team will be assigned by their unique team codes.

3. They have to bring a hard copy of the certificate duly signed and sealed by the authority of the institution.

4. The teams must upload the scanned copy of the payment receipt
   

REGISTRATION FEES:

• The registration fee for the competition is 500/- that is non-refundable. The payment should only be paid through the NEFT transfer of UPI.

• Accommodation will be provided with additional charges.
