3rd National Mock Trial Competition by MAIMS, Delhi (Register by June 30)
ABOUT THE COMPETITION:
Department of Law, Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies (MAIMS) is organizing the 3rd National Mock Trial Competition, 2024 in hybrid mode (14th Oct- 16th Oct in online mode and 25th Oct- 26th Oct in offline mode). The theme of the competition is 'Kidnapping of a child by its own parent'. It aims to spread awareness towards this issue and the concern of the well- being of the child in the social, physical, and psychological perspective. Along with participation in the mock trial, the department is also inviting registrations for being a witness in the mock trial.
MODE:
The competition will be conducted in hybrid mode-
Researcher’s Test, preliminary rounds and Quarter finals will be conducted in online mode.
Semi- Final and Final Rounds will be in offline mode.
IMPORTANT DATES:
Last date to register: 30th June
Last date of seeking clarification: 25th July
Release of clarifications: 31st July
Last date for Memorial Submission: 10th August
Inauguration and Draw of Lots: 14th October (online mode)
Preliminary Rounds and Researcher Test: 15th October (online mode)
Quarter Final Round: 16th October (online mode)
Semi-Final and Final Round: 25th October (offline mode)
Valedictory Ceremony: 26th October (offline mode)
ELIGIBILITY:
Students pursuing a three year/ five year law course are eligible for participation.
The teams must comprise three members (2 speakers and one researcher). Each team will get two witnesses 45 minutes prior to the round.
The team with 2 members shall also be eligible to participate (prior permission of organizers). But, the team shall not be eligible to appear for the researcher's test.
Witnesses eligibility: Students pursuing any degree course from any institute established in Delhi/ Delhi NCR can participate.
HOW TO REGISTER?
Interested candidates are required to register themselves by filling the registration form.
Registration fees for teams: Rs. 5000/- per team.
Registration fees for witness: Rs 700/- per person.
AWARDS:
Best Team: Cash Prize of Rs. 45,000.
Runner- up: Cash Prize of Rs. 25,000
Best Researcher: Cash Prize of Rs. 5,000
Best Memorial: Cash Prize of Rs. 5,000
Best Speaker: Cash Prize of Rs. 5,000
Best Witness: Cash Prize of Rs. 10,000
