2nd Samanvay International Mediation Competition, 2024

About the Competition:

2nd Samanvay International Mediation Competition, 2024 is being organized by the Centre for Alternative Disute Resolution and Professional Skills (CADR & PS) of Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), Shimla. This competition aims to provide an opportunity for the students to develop negotiating skills and showcase their skills in taking multi- multi-dimensional approach to reach settlement.

Mode of Competition:

The competition will be conducted in hybrid mode-

1. 20th- 22nd Sept, 2024: Virtual Rounds. (via Google Meet)

2. 25th- 26th Oct, 2024: Offline Rounds

Location:

Shimla, Himachal Pradesh

Eligibility:

Students pursuing a three year or a five year law degree are eligible to apply.

Maximum 2 slots per institution is allowed.

Each team must comprise three members- one mediator, one client and one counsel

Important Dates:

Last date of Provisional Registration: 25th July, 2024

Last date of Final Registration: 10th August, 2024

Training Workshop: 20th Sept, 2024 [Virtual mode]

Inaugural Ceremony: 21st Sept, 2024 [Virtual]

Prelim 1 and Prelim 2: 21st Sept, 2024 [Virtual]

Octa- Final: 22nd Sept, 2024 [Virtual]

Quarter Final: 25th Oct, 2024 [Offline]

Semi- Final: 25th Oct, 2024 [Offline]

Final: 26th Oct, 2024 [Offline]

Valedictory Ceremony: 26th Oct, 2024 [Offline]

How to Register?

1. Teams must first fill the Provisional Registration form by the latest 25th July, 2024.

2. Maximum 32 teams will be selected for the competition.

3. Confirmation mail will be sent at the email along with the final registration form and payment link.

4. The registration fee is Rs. 15,000/- per team.

5. Clarifications w.r.t. the competition and proposition shall be sent at the email address: cadr@hpnlu.ac.in.

Awards:

Best Negotiating Pair: Rs. 40,000/-

Best Mediator: Rs. 20,000/-

Runner Up Negotiating Pair: Rs. 20,000/-

Runner Up Mediator: Rs. 10,000/-

Best Negotiating Pair in Preliminary Round: Rs. 15,000/-

Best Mediator in Preliminary Round: Rs. 8,000/-

Best Mediation Plan: Rs. 7,000/-
