About the Organizers
People’s Education Society, established in 1933 by Late Shri S. K. Patil, Charandas Meghji, and Dr. D. N. Kale, was founded to provide education to the children of mill workers in Lower Parel, Mumbai. The society expanded its efforts to include schools, a junior college, and the Adv. Balasaheb Apte College of Law.
Located in Dadar (West), the college offers three-year and five-year law degree courses and features modern amenities like a library, moot court, and auditorium. The institution aims to equip students with the skills needed to excel in the evolving legal profession, meeting the increasing demand for competent lawyers.
About The Competition:
The Adv. Balasaheb Apte College of Law, under the People’s Education Society, is hosting the 12th Annual Adv. B. P. Apte Memorial National Mock Trial, Moot Court, and Judgement Writing Competition from September 27th to 29th, 2024, in Dadar (West), Mumbai. This event honors the legacy of Late Shri Balwant Parshuram Apte, a renowned legal luminary and parliamentarian, by encouraging law students and young advocates to engage in practical advocacy. The competition, focusing on the theme of ‘Juvenile Justice,’ offers participants a unique opportunity to experience both Trial Court and High Court proceedings, with rounds involving a mock trial and a moot court based on a fictitious case challenging the constitutional validity of provisions in the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015.

Eligibility:
· Bona-fide LL.B. students pursuing 3-years or 5-years LLB. Degree courses during the academic year 2024-25 are eligible to participate. The students must be deputed by their respective colleges.
· Students above the age of 25 years are not permitted to participate in the competition.
Team Composition:
· Each participating college/ university shall send only one team.
· Each team shall consist of maximum two members. This number cannot be modified under any circumstances.
· Each team will be provided with a unique Team Code.
Awards:
· Winning team Rs. 20,000/- and Trophy
· Runner up team Rs. 10,000/- and Trophy
· Best Student Advocate Rs. 7,500/- and Trophy
· Winner of Judgement Writing Competition: Rs. 7,500/- and Trophy
All participants will be awarded participation certificates

· Eligibility: Only the first 24 teams to register are eligible to participate.
· Provisional Registration:
- Teams must email a scanned copy of the filled Registration Form from their college's official email to mootabacl@gmail.com by August 24, 2024.
- Participants will receive an acknowledgment upon successful submission.
· Final Registration:
- Must be completed by August 31, 2024.
- Registration fee: Rs. 3,000/-.
- Accommodation fee (if needed): Rs. 5,000/-.

· Additional Information:
- Confirmation of participation will be given on a first-come, first-served basis to the first 24 teams that complete all requirements.
- No changes in participant names are allowed after submission, except at the discretion of the organizers.
- Payments are non-refundable.
